Information collected by our website

We may collect the following information directly from you when you communicate with us or fill in forms on our website, such as when you register for an account or make a purchase: -

How Goodlookers Use your Data

  1. Delivery. In order to fulfil our promised delivery and contract to you, we will need to supply your data to our Warehouse and our chosen courier for your delivery.
  2. Marketing via email or Post. At every interaction point you will have the choice to opt out of marketing messages if you wish to do so. This will be actioned immediately upon on your request.
  3. Fraud Protection and Detection. It's vital we monitor orders to protect you from fraudsters and crime.
  4. Web Advertising. We work with carefully selected websites to serve up adverts to personalise your online experience even more. Hopefully in a discrete, unobtrusive way.
  5. Research and Analysis. It's important we listen to our customers through their feedback and actions in order to allow us to improve our service and products. We may analyse your personal information to create a profile of your interests and preferences so that we can contact you with information relevant to you. We may make use of additional information about you when it is available from external sources to help us do this effectively. This may include our agencies who help us analyse trends, purchase patterns and performance. This information will be anonymised before leaving our business.
  6. Payment Details. We will never store your credit/debit card information on our website. All electronic transactions you make to or receive from us will be encrypted using SSL technology and will be transferred and processed by Sage Pay or via Paypal to provide a fully secure payment portal.
  7. Cookies and Browsing behaviour. This helps us both improve the online experience and give you the best possible shopping experience. We do also use this to target you with adverts online. When we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is absolutely necessary to deliver our service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own purposes. Your information outside of the UK and EU

We may transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) for processing and storing. Also, it may be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. For example, such staff maybe engaged in the processing and concluding of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. Where we transfer your information outside of the EEA we will ensure safeguards are in place to ensure it remains secure and adequately protected.

Keeping your information

We do need to maintain your information for a certain period to provide customer support, purchase history, prevention of fraud and analytics.

We will maintain these records for the following times scales.

  1. Cookie and browsing behaviour – 30 days.
  2. Email Sign Ups where no purchase has been made – 2 Years
  3. Purchases – We will maintain order information for 7 years since last purchase. This will be anonymised after 5 years.

Your rights

  3. You have the right to access your records at any time.
  4. You have the right to have your records anonymised at any time.

Your rights - Further Information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you and to ask us to confirm how we use your information. If the information that we hold about you is not accurate, complete and up to date, you may request that we correct this information.

Please email your request to access your information to the Data Protection Coordinator at the address given above. It is helpful if you explain what particular records you are seeking, but you do not have to say. You will need to provide two forms of identification, which can include current passport; driving licence; birth certificate; utility bill from last 3 months; bank statement from last 3 months. We don’t store this identification, it's used solely to verify the requester’s identity.

You can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records and – in certain circumstances – ask for this data to be transferred to another organisation. Where certain conditions apply, you have a right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information. You also have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing, automated processing or profiling.

Please also email our Data Protection Coordinator if you would like further information about your rights or wish to exercise them.  If we are unable to fulfil your request for any reason, we will provide you with a reason as to why.

If you are not happy with the way we have handled your data, or you are not satisfied that your issue has been resolved, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent authority for privacy matters.
